MMMC: Advisor Workshop

  2nd Annual Workshop on Organizing and Coaching Undergraduate Math Modeling Teams
While students are developing MMMC solutions, we invite faculty advisors  to take part in a workshop focused on preparing undergraduate teams to participate in math modeling competitions. We will have a number of accomplished MCM faculty advisors in Iowa City for the MMMC willing to share their experiences. Discussions will focus on organizational best practices, strategies for team success and the importance of the abstract. Please contact me or Dr. Murphy Waggoner if you have any questions or particular interests you would like addressed in the workshop.

Invited Speaker: Dr. Murphy Waggoner
Dr. Waggoner has successfully advised Simpson College MCM / ICM teams since 1997 and has served as an MCM Final Paper Judge on numerous occasions. In her talk, she will explain the importance of the written summary and interactively discuss aspects of good (and bad) abstract writing.
