Topic:
"Introduction to tropical scheme theory"
Abstract:
Tropical geometry is a recent field of mathematics, studying certain combinatorial shadow of algebraic varieties to read off various information of algebraic varieties in a combinatorial way. In their recent paper, Jeffrey and Noah Giansiracusa proposed a notion of tropical schemes to study this combinatorial shadow in a more scheme-theoretic way. In this talk, I will explain basic ideas of tropical geometry and tropical scheme theory.
