Topic:
Coverings and Voltages for Brauer Graph Algebras

Abstract:
A Brauer graph is a graph with a cyclic ordering of edges around each vertex and a multiplicity function defined on the vertices. Given a Brauer graph, one can associate to that Brauer graph a bound quiver algebra, called a Brauer graph algebra. We introduce Brauer graph algebras and discuss the notion of a Brauer weighting on a Brauer graph. Such a Brauer weighting gives rise to the theory of coverings of Brauer graph algebras, which we provide a survey of. We then connect these coverings to voltage graphs derived from Brauer graphs, and discuss current work in this direction.
