Topic:
"Uncertainty Quantification in Computational Science and Engineering"
Abstract: I will present an overview of prominent computational methods for solving uncertainty quantification problems encountered in applied sciences, mathematics, and engineering. More specifically, I will discuss and compare two methods, the commonly used polynomial chaos expansion and our polynomial dimensional decomposition, in tackling high-dimensional stochastic problems. Time permitting, I will address the capabilities and limitations of both methods, including future research directions.
