Abstract:
I test a method developed by Professor Palle Jorgensen and Iowa Mathematics Ph.D. graduate - Ekatrina Nathanson - that reinterprets the Feynman path integral (which is not an integral in the traditional sense) as the expectation value of a certain functional on a space of continuous paths with respect to a complex probability measure.  I demonstrate that this method can be successfully used to compute quantum mechanical scattering cross sections.
