Topic:
One-Sided Lipschitzness and Contractive Dynamical Systems

Contraction theory is a powerful tool used to study conditions that foster synchronization in networks of dynamical systems. However, classical approaches primarily study contraction with respect to the l_{2} norms for continuously differentiable vector fields. We are going to apply a weaker property of a Lipschitz continuous map called one-sided Lipschitzness to study necessary and sufficient conditions for the contraction and stability of dynamical systems. We will introduce weak pairings as a framework to study contractivity with respect to arbitrary norms.
