Schur's Lemma and Orthogonality Relations in Non-Unimodular Groups

$Schur's Lemma and Orthogonality Relations are powerful tools in the field of harmonic analysis, with the latter providing a basis for L^2(G) when your underlying space is compact. This condition is fairly restrictive, and so efforts were made to develop analogous results when the group is not necessarily compact. The goal of this talk is to provide enough background language to state the original results, as well as discuss their generalizations.$
