Topic:
Subconvexity Problem Made Easy

Abstract:
Estimating the size of automorphic L-functions on the critical line $Re(s)=1/2$ is a central problem in analytic number theory. The subconvexity problem consists of improving the so-called trivial or convexity bounds on the said L-functions obtained using the Phragmén–Lindelöf principle. In this talk, we will explore several themes and tools from analytic number theory and use them to look at subconvexity in certain simple premises.
