Math Biology Seminar

Speaker:

Topic:
Synchronization in networks of bursting neurons.

Abstract:

The synchronization of complex networks can be observed in a wide range of engineered and biological systems, from electric power networks to the human brain. We study the emergence of synchronization in networks of electrically coupled oscillators in regards to its coupling strength. We will apply an analytical method (contraction theory) and a numerical method (Master Stability Function) to determine the stability of the synchronous manifold. We will go through each method and then compare the two approaches.
