Abstract:
The light-front formulation of quantum field theory provides a method to avoid the usual complications encountered when relating the vacuum of an interacting theory with that of a free theory. This method is tied to the fact that the operator algebras constructed from fields restricted to the light front do not appear to have the inequivalent representations of the canonical commutation relations that one would expect from a physically relevant theory.
