Nonlinear Dynamical Systems in Electrophysiology

Abstract:   Often we can model a biological phenomenon with system of ordinary differential equations. To study the time-dependent evolution of the phenomenon, theory of dynamical systems can be used. In this talk, I will explain how some concepts such as equilibrium, stability, and bifurcation can be applied to study different behaviors of neurons such as excitability, bursting, oscillations, and so on.
