Mathematical Physics Seminar

Speaker:

Topic:
Quantum Simulations of a 1 dimensional Field Theory

Abstract:
The hope of quantum computers is that current intractable problems in high energy physics will be accessible using quantum computers, especially the examination of real-time evolution. We discuss the simulation of a free and ''interacting" 1 dimensional quantum field theory on a NISQ era quantum computer. We discuss the methodologies for mitigating NISQ machine errors and algorithmic errors. We discuss methods and show the results of measuring quantum scattering observables using real time methods on current quantum computers.
