Wreath-like products of groups and their von Neumann algebras III: Classification of embeddings

Abstract:

For a class of wreath-like product groups with property (T), we describe explicitly all embeddings between their von Neumann algebras. We also give a construction of groups in this class only having inner injective homomorphisms. By combining these results, we obtain examples of group II1 factors which only admit inner endomorphisms. This is based on join works with Ionut Chifan, Adrian Ioana, Denis Osin and Bin Sun.
