Abstract:
In 1990 Green defined in her thesis graph products of groups, which are a generalization of direct products and free products.  In this talk I will discuss recent progress on showing strong rigidity for group von Neumann algebras of graph products whose vertex groups are hyperbolic property (T) and whose underlying graph has maximal cliques that intersect. This is based on joint work with Ionut Chifan.
