Abstract:
In this talk, I will give equivalent definitions of Stein manifolds and then define Stein domains as needed to state Eliashberg's handle attachment theorem for Stein domains. Finally, we will end with a theorem giving the conditions needed to find a Stein neighborhood of a surface embedded in a complex manifold.
