Topic:
"Divisibility in the difference of Jones polynomials for links"

Abstract:
It is well-known that for a pair of oriented links, the difference of their Jones polynomials takes the form of an integral Laurent polynomial. An interesting question which arises is the question of which polynomial can occur as the difference of the Jones polynomials of two oriented links. In this talk, I will show that if two links satisfy some nice common properties (e.g., ribbon, S-equivalent etc.), then the difference of their Jones polynomials has a certain nontrivial divisor.
