Abstract:
Homology cobordisms provide an important family of 4-dimensional manifolds with boundary, which arise naturally in various places in low dimensional topology. They are also close cousins of concordances between knots. After reviewing basic definitions and some simple properties of homology cobordisms, I mention a few questions and conjectures about homology cobordisms.
