In a combined outright gift and a bequest, Dr. Erwin Kleinfeld, a Professor Emeritus of the UI math department, created the Kleinfeld Fellowship Fund to support UI math graduate students.  Both Erwin and Margaret Kleinfeld were professors of mathematics in this department, retiring in 2002.  For a full and amazing story, see https://magazine.foriowa.org/story.php?ed=true&storyid=1793
