Yangyang has received a major NIH grant on her project “CRCNS: Evidence-based modeling of neuromodulatory action on network properties".  This is a five-year Collaborative Research in Computational Neuroscience (CRCNS) grant with a total funding of $1,773,230, supported by the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the NIH.  Yangyang is the PI of the project. Together with Dr. Alfredo Garcia (University of Chicago, Integrative Physiology) and Dr. Andrew Tryba (University of Chicago, Pediatric Neurology), they will explore neuromodulatory mechanisms in the respiratory neural control, with a focus in the excitatory modulatory actions of norepinephrine and inhibitory actions of opioids.

Congratulations, Yangyang!
