Nonlocal nonstabilizerness in quantum many body systems
Zane Ozzello
Abstract: Behaviors of quantum many body systems are well described by entanglement across their spectrum. The nonlocal magic, or nonlocal nonstabilizerness, is another way of measuring inherently nonclassical correlations in a system. This quantity specifically measures the deviation from stabilizer states on either side of a partitioning of a system. Here, we look at both eigenvalue thermalization hypothesis (ETH) systems, systems that can display quantum thermalization, and systems displaying Hilbert space fragmentation (HSF), systems which are kinetically constrained to only evolve within specific symmetry sectors. With systems in either of these regimes, we show that not only the entanglement spectrum displays distinct behavior, but also that being in either regime also displays distinct behavior across the spectrum of nonlocal magic. Time permitting, we present additional results of this behavior in the compact Abelian Higgs model as its coupling varies.
