Bruce Ayati

Professor
Biography

Bruce Ayati’s expertise is in creating and analyzing models that simulate biological processes, developing innovative computational methods to solve these models efficiently and accurately, and the numerical analysis of these methods.  He works to bring the tools of computational science and numerical mathematics to bear on multicellular biomedical systems, particularly those that involve tissue-level phenomena or microbial ecology.

With a secondary appointment in the Department of Orthopedics & Rehabilitation and an affiliate role in the Applied Mathematical and Computational Sciences program, Professor Ayati collaborates extensively across disciplines. His interdisciplinary research has led to advancements in understanding osteoarthritis, multiple myeloma, bone remodeling, bacterial biofilms, and the gut microbiota, among other systems.
