THE GRADUATING CLASS OF 2025 recognizes these UI faculty and staff members for making a positive difference in their lives during their time at the University of Iowa. President Barbara Wilson, Executive Vice President and Provost Kevin Kregel, and Vice President for Student Life Sarah Hansen join in thanking all the faculty and staff members who work every day to make a difference for our students. Since October 2024, Department of Mathematics faculty members Ionut Chifan, Hao Fang, and Keiko Kawamuro, and then-graduate student Adriana Fernandez Quero have been organizing math club meetings with students at Southeast Middle School.

On Tuesday, April 29th, Mathematics faculty, students, and staff gathered in Muhly Lounge to celebrate the school year and present awards to undergraduate and graduate students.

Graduate student Jacob Van Grinsven, has been awarded the CLAS Dissertation Writing Fellowship to support the completion of his dissertation, “Exact Rep(H) module categories for Hopf algebras over the Kac-Paljutkin Hopf Algebra.”
